Mobile Homes and Residential
Mobile homes and older manufactured structures commonly contain asbestos-containing materials in flooring, roofing, insulation, and wall panels. Colorado state law requires an asbestos inspection before demolition of any structure regardless of age, and abatement must be completed before demo can begin.
For residential properties, abatement is required when asbestos-containing materials exceed 50 linear feet on pipes, 32 square feet on surfaces, or the volume of a 55-gallon drum. Most mobile home demolitions exceed these thresholds, making licensed abatement a required step rather than an optional one.

Commercial & Industrial Buildings
From office buildings and warehouses to hospitals, churches, retail centers, and government facilities, D2 Environmental Abatement Solutions handles asbestos abatement for commercial and industrial projects across Colorado.
Commercial buildings present their own abatement challenges, with asbestos commonly found in sprayed-on fireproofing, acoustic ceiling tiles, pipe insulation, HVAC components, fire doors, and various sealing compounds. Colorado requires asbestos inspection for all renovation and demolition projects with no exceptions based on building age. For commercial properties, abatement is required when the amount of asbestos-containing material to be disturbed exceeds 260 linear feet on pipes or 160 square feet on other surfaces.
Our team coordinates directly with general contractors and project owners, managing permitting, CDPHE notification, and documentation so abatement stays on schedule and does not create delays for the trades that follow.
Public & Private Schools K-12
Schools operate under some of the most stringent asbestos regulations in the country. The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requires public and private nonprofit K-12 schools (including those on military bases) to inspect for asbestos-containing building materials, maintain an active Asbestos Management Plan, and use EPA-accredited professionals for all asbestos-related work.
D2 Environmental Abatement Solutions works with school districts and facilities teams to navigate these requirements. Co-owner Devin Heitzmann holds an AHERA Asbestos Project Designer certification, meaning D2 EAS can develop project designs that meet AHERA standards without requiring a separate design consultant.

Military Installations
Military facilities in Colorado present some of the most complex asbestos abatement environments in the region. Many military structures built between the 1930s and 1980s still contain asbestos in flooring, roofing, pipe insulation, and building materials throughout barracks, training facilities, and support structures. Fort Carson is among the Army installations with documented asbestos use, and Peterson Space Force Base, established in the 1942, includes infrastructure of similar age and construction.
